Double Delight For Viva Blackpool

11 June 2019

It was double delight for Viva Blackpool as we picked up two awards at Radio Waves’ Culture, Lifestyle and Business Awards 2019.

In the running for four awards on the night, the venue team were crowned winners in both the Customer Service Excellence Award and Best Nightlife Award at a black tie ceremony held at The Empress Ballroom, at the Winter Gardens.

Martin Heywood, joint owner of Viva collected the award on the night saying: “These awards are really special to everyone at Viva Blackpool as they are voted for by the general public and that means the world to us. It’s quite literally a seal of approval from our guests and is testament to the hard work of the team and calibre of productions and shows we are bringing to the town.

“At VIVA, we are trying to create an experience for our guests that not only retains customer loyalty but that gets people talking and recommending us to others and winning these awards proves that people are doing just that and we can’t thank everyone enough.”

Viva Blackpool is leading the way as a vibrant venue bringing over xxx shows a year to the resort, boosting tourism and the local economy with people travelling far and wide to attend shows. Also a finalist in the Best Hotel and Hospitality Award as well as Best Entertainment Event award, the team certainly had reason to celebrate. With a dedicated production team and resident cast, the shows offer a commitment to quality and fun that sees 5 star reviews across sites including TripAdvisor, Feefo and Facebook.

The Radio Wave awards attracted over 600 guests to the Empress Ballroom, hosted by Scott and Stacey of the Radio Wave Breakfast Team.

A Wedding Planner’s Top 5 Tips for Choosing a Theme for Your Wedding!

7 June 2019

Your wedding theme will paint the picture for your whole wedding, so finding the perfect theme for your special day, that best suits you and your spouse, is really important!

You’re newly engaged and super excited to start wedding planning, or perhaps you’ve been engaged for quite a while and have never really been too sure where to begin. After all, when you enter the world of wedding planning there is so much to consider, and without a guide to follow in place it can easily become overwhelming and spiral out of control.

Don’t know where to start? I’ve come up with a few handy ways to help you figure out which style of wedding suits you best.Here are my Top 5 Tips to consider when choosing a wedding theme;

  1. Set Your Wedding Date

One of the first, and most important, things on your To Do List should be to set the date! The easiest way to do this is to first rule out dates you definitely DON’T want. You might not want to get married around any public holidays such as Christmas, or Easter, or you may want to avoid a particular season such as Winter as it’s too cold in your area – or Summer if you find a lot of your family and friends are likely to be away for the holidays! Once you’ve listed the times of year you’d like to avoid this will make it easier to settle on a date that suits you perfectly!

  1. Make a list of your Hobbies, Interests, and anything that inspires you.

Take some time to sit down with your significant other and make a combined list of your hobbies, interests, and things that make you feel good. Perhaps you both enjoy spending time outdoors and love nature? Do you spend your free time at concerts, gigs, and enjoy live music? Is there a particular country or town that means something to you both that you love to visit? Wedding themes come in all shapes and sizes, so no matter how wacky it is, write it down and keep building your list.

Once you have everything written down, go through each item and see if you can create a theme out of any of the ideas. For example; you love camping, festivals, and live music – a Festival themed wedding makes for a fun day out for your guests and there are lots of wedding suppliers who can create a Festival themed wedding without breaking the bank.

  1. Make a Wish List

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have hundreds of ideas buzzing around your mind of all the things you want to include as part of your special day, even more so if you have a love of Pinterest and are constantly bombarded with wedding inspo!

Make a list of all the things you’d like; list as much as you can from different style wedding cakes, a choice in centrepieces, types of favours you’d like, and even entertainment options – Once you have them all in front of you, you might be surprised that many of your ideas all link to one or two particular wedding styles – making it even simpler to choose a theme!

  1. Choose Your Wedding Venue

You’ve chosen your date, you’ve made a list of your hobbies and interests, and you’ve chosen your wish list – When it comes to themed weddings; the wedding venue can play a huge part in choosing the right theme! Some venues can accommodate all types of themes; especially if you’re working with a blank space. However, if you’re opting for a Bohemian Style wedding as a theme, a Town Hall type venue probably wouldn’t be the best fit. If you’re looking for a Vegas Style wedding, a venue that can already add a bit of Glitz and Glam would be perfect!

  1. Stay True to Yourself

“A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly!”

Choosing the right theme for your once in a lifetime occasion is not always easy, but it’s important to remember that the day is about the two of you becoming one, and therefore the theme should reflect your personalities and mean something to the both of you! Try not to get too hung up on making decisions and most importantly – Have fun planning your themed wedding!
