Viva’s VIPs

Last night our management team here at Viva Blackpool all came together with Martin Heywood, Managing Director, and Leye D Johns Entertainments Director and held their first full team meeting of the year, with over 50 employees in attendance, and one of them even won a Holiday!

The aim of the meeting was to introduce our new VIP program (Viva Improvement Project), which focuses on the improvements in the overall company with a particular focus on employment and career progression.

We have many employees here at Viva who started life as a Glass Collector, or in our Restaurant Department as service staff. Many of these now have progressed onto management level roles in as little as 18 months, with some even heading their own department.

The VIP project is being led by Operations Director Paul Stevens, and Events Manager, Amy Mantle. And just 9 weeks into the project there have already been some big changes that have made a huge difference to the employees of Viva Blackpool.

We even have one of our glamorous Viva Vegas Showgirls undertaking her AAT qualifications, now not many places can say they have a showgirl in the accounts department!

And as of effect of 4th March, all Viva employees will have their wages increases to the National Living Wage ahead of Aprils changes. As well as many training events scheduled in the diary, taking place throughout March and April such as Communication Workshops, Leadership Development, and Business Insights.

As well as Viva also awarded two of its members of staff some amazing prizes for all of their hard work and efforts. Our Star of the Season 2018, Sinead Bailey was awarded a weeks holiday in Tenerife, including flights and accommodation for two people!

Nicole O’Callogham won February’s Star of the Month ans was awarded a meal for two at Revolution Blackpool and a bottle of prosecco.

We at Viva really understand the importance of looking after those that work hard for us all year round, and we are now in a position where we are able to show our appreciation. Viva Blackpool’s aim is to recruit for the upcoming season at the end of March however if you would like any information on upcoming positions you can visit the Careers page on our website www.vivablackpool.com/careers.
